How to Care for Your Crochet Plant (Yes, Really)

One of the best things about owning a crochet plant is that it gives you all the beauty of greenery without the pressure of keeping something alive.
That said, there are still a few helpful things to know to keep your plant looking its best for years to come.
Below you’ll find a quick guide to caring for your new forever plant.

LIGHT

Your crochet plant is wonderfully adaptable and can be styled almost anywhere in your home.
Unlike real plants, it won’t wilt in low light or struggle in a dim corner. You don’t need to rotate it, monitor exposure, or worry about leaf burn.
Simply place it wherever it compliments your space best, from shelves and offices to bathrooms and bedside tables.
Because each plant is made from yarn, we do recommend being mindful of prolonged, intense direct sunlight. Over time, very strong sun exposure (such as sitting in a bright windowsill all day) may gently fade the colour of the fibres.
Ultimately, the best spot is the one that makes you happiest when you see it.

WATERING

This is the easiest part, no watering required.
There’s no need to mist, soak, measure, or remember a schedule.
In fact, we recommend keeping water well away from your plant, as excess moisture may affect its shape over time.
If someone helpfully tries to water it, just allow it to air dry completely and remind them that this plant thrives on admiration alone.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Over time, your plant may collect a little household dust just like any décor piece.

To freshen it up:

  • Gently shake it outdoors

  • Use a lint roller for light surface dust

  • Wipe the pot with a dry or slightly damp cloth

There’s no pruning, trimming, or reshaping required. It will keep its form beautifully without intervention.

IS IT PET FRIENDLY?

Yes, your crochet plant is completely pet safe.
There are no toxins, no sharp thorns, and no need to worry if a curious nose gets a little too close.
Unlike many real houseplants, you won’t need to check whether it’s safe for cats or dogs. That said, while it’s pet safe, it isn’t designed to be chewed or used as a toy. If your furry friend decides to taste-test a leaf or carry it off during a burst of zoomies, simply move your plant to a higher shelf or more secure spot.

REPOTTING

Your crochet plant is permanently and securely fixed in its pot. Each piece is designed as a complete arrangement, meaning there are no roots to outgrow the container and no soil to refresh over time. The structure is intentionally set to maintain its shape and stability.
For that reason, repotting isn’t recommended. If you’d love a different pot style or colour, we’re always happy to help. We welcome custom requests and would love to create something that perfectly suits your space.
Simply get in touch to discuss a bespoke piece made just for you. Of course, adding another plant to your collection is also a beautiful option, they layer effortlessly together and require no adjustment period.

DESIGNED TO LAST

With proper and minimal care, your crochet plant will:
Never wilt
Never yellow
Never attract pests

It’s greenery without the pressure thoughtfully made to bring warmth and texture into your home for years to come.
And the only thing it truly needs? A place you love.
